Sisters . . . . .well almost

How things have changed in just one week.  The girls now play together, sit together, eat together and occasionally sleep in the same bed. They even wash each other.  How wonderful!   It is so much nicer around here now – no more fights; no more Mango “in hiding”; no more yelling at Poppy for eating Mango’s food.  The patient, loving care has finally paid off (and long may it continue!)

See, we can be friends

Tuesday was a very strange day.  After 12 weeks with us the girls finally sat together!

The dynamics between the girls have slowly been changing for a while now.

Not only did they sit together but Poppy gave Mango a wash as well!

Thinking it had all been a bit of a fluke, I decided to try and give them their cat treats at the same time . . . . . .

. . . . . amazing eh?

Going solo

As you know, we have been taking the girls outside on their leads, gradually getting them used to their surroundings and most importantly, where they live.
Last week we let Poppy out on her own.  Well, I say on her own but it was under supervision.  Both DH and I were with her in the garden – just in a supervisory sort of way.  Poppy thought it was great to mooch about, having sniff here and a sniff there.  Not such a relaxing time for us as our hearts were in our mouths the whole time.
What surprised us most was that Poppy didn’t make a run for it, was quite happy to stay within the confines of the garden (for now) and when she’d had enough, simply stood at the back door waiting to be let in.

 What a strange cat!

Mango at play

Over the last week or so our intrepid “ginger ninja” has gained in confidence and can now be seen to be playing – just like any normal cat!!
