Poppy in a box
Like most cats, Poppy loves boxes; I mean, really loves boxes!! Any box will do, large or small.
The girls have been with us almost 18 months and whilst Mango enjoys a cuddle and likes nothing better than to find a lap to sit on, Poppy is completely different. Poppy’s ideal evening sitting place is on the back of my armchair. Over the past few weeks we have detected a change in her; she walks over me (quite slowly) to get on the back of the chair but cannot quite muster the courage to actually sit on me. I find this quite odd as she is my constant work companion and likes can quite often be found sitting in all my work mess!
Last week, when Poppy was quite settled in her shoe box, I picked the box up and put it on my lap – would you believe it that my “cat in a box” stayed on my lap all evening. I tried it again the next night and again she stayed on my lap, in her box, all evening. I have now got into the habit of putting the box on the armchair whilst we have dinner to let Poppy know that it is almost time to sit on my lap. Next step – to sit on my lap without the box!

Love the photos and your comments as I think I've said in the past Lucky also likes boxes, sheets of paper, freshly ironed cloths, and even my sock draw etc.
This got me thinking do a internet search asking the question "why do cats like boxes" interesting reading, try it and see the results.
