Red feet
Have you guessed the culprit yet? We had changed their cat litter from their usual brand (white gravel) to a different one, red gravel and the colour was coming off on their feet (duh!). Guess we’ll be going back to our usual brand.

Pedicure
Last week I got brave and I mean very brave. Both girls needed their claws trimmed! I was working on the theory that neither Poppy or Mango had had their claws trimmed before. Since they had spent a lot of time outside I guessed it wouldn’t be necessary. However, since they have been with us they have been indoor cats and those claws just had to be trimmed!! I got everything to hand before picking Mango up and managed to do one foot before she realised what was going on. After a brief struggle I successfully clipped the claws on the other foot.
Now Poppy was a whole different ball game. Making sure everything was within easy reach (again), I positioned Poppy ready to start clipping – well, she shot off like a rocket! DH held her and I managed to clip 2 claws – this was not going to plan. After several struggles with both humans and cat getting more and more fed up, I decided to give it best.
When DS came home from school I asked him to hold Poppy whilst I clipped her claws. We made a space on the dining table (nowhere for Poppy to get any grip) and DS held her, well, I say held but it was more like a rugby tackle hold/pin down! Five minutes later the job was done, no-one was injured and we had one mardy cat with short nails!!

Ghostly goings on????
Can you see the cat in the picture? Is it a ghost? Are your eyes playing tricks? Well, there is a cat in the picture (to the left of the fish) and no, your eyes are not playing tricks. This is the result of me playing with my digi cam. Mango was perched on the end of the sofa looking into the tank and I couldn’t resist trying to take a photo from the other end of the tank. So what you are seeing is Mango through water. Naturally, the angel fish had to get in the picture (she’s always a one for the camera!).
